Strawberry Ice Cream ~ Pure in taste and understated in its muted pink coat, this unassuming strawberry ice cream packs more flavor than a pan full of Emeril’s “Bam-d” up food.

Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream in a Tuile Cup
Like most of you, I’m sure your spice cabinet resembles an apothecary’s tool kit. This recipe required some self restraint on my part, especially since I was dying to doctor this up with some pink and green peppercorns. But keeping my audience in mind, I kept it simple, especially since my dinner group that I will be serving this to is on the less adventurous side. Okay, it’s my family again.
But really, I figure for all the things Matt does for me I can indulge a few of his requests. And the one thing he loves and wants right now is ice cream. That is strawberry ice cream to be exact, nothing too busy and nothing weird. That definitely meant no peppercorn infusion for him.

Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches on a Stick ~ Homemade Reeses Peanut Buttercup ice cream stuffed it between two Oreo cookies for an ice cream sandwich treat on a stick.

Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches
In order to entice my family to taste test yet another recipe, I traded my homemade chocolate cookies for something that had more curb appeal to them- Hello Oreos! Sad but true, my boys would rather have an Oreo over my homemade chocolate cookies on most days.
The red striped collar was fashioned from a cupcake liner to serve as drip catcher since my lil guy freaks out if his hands become remotely dirty much less sticky. The ribbon was thrown on there to hold the collar in place.
As for the Reeses Peanut Buttercup Ice Cream, my husband loved it and thought it had a perfectly creamy texture that was similar to Dreyers ice cream. » Read the rest of this entry «
