Prosecco Floats

June 29, 2012 By Naomi Robinson | Bakers Royale 30 Comments

The prosecco floats didn’t start out sideways. No, I had the strawberry, blackberry and lemon sorbet scoops contained in their tiny glasses—not beautiful, not perfect, but definitely enhanced and floated by the crisp sweetness of the prosecco. After only a few frames I lost my balance and knocked over the light-bouncing white board and going down with it— the styled prosecco floats.

Mixed Berry Prosecco Floats

The next shot is where the prosecco floats did start – upright.

The picture below was composed from what I was able to save from the spill. This was meant to be an easy entertaining idea for a 4th of July dessert, but from the spill to even the float itself, nothing worked out the way it was suppose to. For some reason I thought the blackberry sorbet would be a dark blue for a red, white and blue dessert, but its acutally purple—total concept fail, well with the exception of the taste.

Even in its mistakes the opening shot of this is post is one of my favorites. Maybe it resonates with me more since the picture seems to parallel my week with a personal issue that went from happy hopefulness to sadness. And finally ending with a beautiful mess.

Even though it was an accident, I’m very fond of that first picture! ^^ It adds color 🙂

    Oh my. Oh my.

I have had my share of kitchen disasters and I have also knocked over my white light bounces on top of perfect stacked and staged food, ruining it in the process. (I need better clips to anchor them so they’re not so wobbly!)

I actually love the opening shot. My jaw hit the floor when I saw it! I was like…no.she.didn’t. Hope things get better for you on a personal level!

Yum!! What a perfect little summer dessert! I love the photo with all the spilled drinks. Likely to happen after a few have been consumed! 😉

I really like the spilled shot! Though, I’d bet the cleaning up part was not as fun… I think, also, that the blackberry is about as close to blue as one can get with food 🙂

love how REAL this is! I also love the first shot with the spilled drinks. I’m happy that you thought to take the picture. There are many of us (myself included) who wouldn’t ever think to take a picture of the “oops” moments… and then have the nerve to actually POST it somewhere publicly because we’re so caught up in the idea of PERFECTION. So you’re awesome, and I think it looks quite beautiful in all it’s disarray 🙂
