It seems that there is a subscription service for just about everything in life. I belong to a few subscription, but I’m most obsessed with my nakedwines.com subscription.

This is the wine subscription to get above all others as it champions independent wine makers all over the world. Members like myself are called Angels. By becoming a member, you get to put your money where it matters the most: the grape, the craft and skilled artisans creating each unique wine.

For someone like me, I’m all about this — I love a good story. But before we go through what I love specifically, let’s talk about what being a nakedwines.com member means:

  • When you join, you become an Angel–you earn your wings and enter into a community of wine lovers and makers that is free of pretension. For me personally, I love the community aspect. As I mentioned, I love a good story, so I absolutely love reading about each wine maker. Next to this I am obsessed with the groups formed by other community members, groups like: (1) Naked Newbies to help new Angels find their way around the site to buying their first bottle. It’s the first place I tell new Angels to visit (2) My favorite: Wine n’ Dine. This group shares everything from the best wine pairings to new discoveries they are obsessed with. Along with that you can tap into the wine recommendation engine that is based on 2 million review and ratings from real wine drinkers.
  • Cost to join: $40 a month. Your $40 a month investment is added to your “piggy bank”. In return, you receive insider pricing that is usually 40-60% off retail. And unlike other subscriptions that send you boxes based on their or your trending pattern, at nakewines.com you shop the bottle you want when you want and it’s shipped to you—sometimes within two days. If you are anything like me, then you can really appreciate this, because I like being in control of where I invest my money. This model gives me the freedom unlike any other subscription—my palate changes often and my curiosity can easily be swayed by some of the group shares, so this model leaves me at the mercy of no one.
  • The history: The company launched in the UK in 2009 and then launched in the US and Australia in 2012. There are currently 100k Angels in the US (over 300k world wide) that fund over 150 winemakers all over the world.

Now that you know why I love being a member, let’s talk about this dinner that Matt and I hosted in partnership with nakedwines.com. What a great evening with friends and making new ones. Everyone loved being able to meet two incredible wine makers Ana Diogo-Draper and Derek Rohlffs (seen below). They told us their story of how they got started, what they are doing next and why they value their relationship with nakedwines.com and Angels like Matt and I.

The dinner celebrated everything I love about what gathers people together: good wine, good food and good company. To celebrate all that is good with gatherings, nakedwines.com is offering a special discount of $100 off $160+ purchase for first time customers. Now that you are in the know, go do it—earn your wings and cheers to supporting the best wine artisans all over the world.

Shrimp and Corn Chowder ~ When things go crazy we Shrimp and Corn Chowder ~ When things go crazy we go simple! Who else feels this? #ad Back to school has been off to a rocky start with mixed up carpool rides to missed days from being sick. Thankfully soups like this come together quickly and easily. All you need are just a handful of fresh ingredients and some pantry staples like @enjoyrealcoco Coconut Milk and @kettleandfire Bone Broth. Both of which are @TetraPakUSA packaged. This means I can stock my pantry and not worry about rotating the food month-to-month. The aseptic packaging solution helps unopened food have a shelf life of six months or more without the need for refrigeration or preservatives. I’m telling you it’s the little things, like food packaging—something you don’t even think about most days, that ends up being the thing that can have the biggest impact sometimes! #ProtectsWhatsGood

Who’s ready to roll into fall with cozy, autumna Who’s ready to roll into fall with cozy, autumnal picnics? To kickstart the season, the kids and I are headed to the park to enjoy an Apple Spiced Cake and warm sips of Apple Cider sweetened with our favorite pantry staple, @truvia. #ad

Truvia Sweet Complete Sweeteners are zero-calorie and made with plant-based stevia sweetness. Whether you are using the All-Purpose, Brown, or Confectioners Sweetener, they measure cup-for-cup like sugar in your favorite seasonal baked goods!

Apple Spiced Cake
Serves 12

3 cups (14 oz.) self-rising flour
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
3 eggs
1 cup (6.25 oz.) Truvia Sweet Complete Granulated All-Purpose Sweetener
1 cup (5.75 oz.) Truvia Sweet Complete Brown Sweetener
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups (5.5 oz.) peeled and shredded granny smith apple, about 2 large

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a 10-12 cup bundt pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Set aside.

In a second large bowl, add the eggs, and beat until combined. Add both the Truvia Sweet Complete Granulated All-Purpose and Brown Sweeteners, whisk until fully incorporated. Pour in buttermilk, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil, whisk until combined.

Fold dry ingredients into the wet until smooth. Add the grated apples and fold until just combined.

Pour batter in prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a cake tester comes out free of wet batter. Transfer cake to a wire rack and let cool in the bundt pan for 20 minutes. Unmold cake and let cool completely on a wire rack. Before serving, dust with Truvia Sweet Complete Confectioners Sweetener. Enjoy outside with a seasonal beverage!
