Caramel Apple Trifles

A Fall trifle that’s perfect for any Thanksgiving feast. Each layer comes together with minimal effort and fully assembled this trifle makes an impressive presentation. Caught in between the layers you will find a light and ethereal caramel mousse that’s been layered with a burnt caramel sauce to accompany the crisp apple crumble. Adding another dimension to the apple crumble are chopped raw apples for a tart and fruity bite. Together all these components create a symphonic collaboration of textures and flavors.

If you follow me on Facebook then you know I put out a query for a preference on easy elegance or fancy desserts that require a little more time. No surprise that easy elegance won. Nutter Butter Bark

Staying the course of simple and easy, I’ve got a 3 ingredient, 25 minutes, no-bake dessert that will make you a hero. This Nutter Butter Bark is full of rich and creamy goodness. Caught between the melted Reese’s peanut butter chips and dark chocolate are chunks of chopped Nutter Butter Cookie Sandwich. The Nutter Butter gives an otherwise texturally monotone, but smooth, bark some crunch.

It’s been dark and rainy in Southern California for the last week. And while I’m sure many people here are ready for it to end, I’m hoping it sticks around for a little while longer. The only downside to all this rain is not being able to photograph properly. The poor lighting conditions makes my point and shoot’s ISO scream with noise.

But even with that, I love the heavy weather. I’m glad that Southern California is actually having a winter. And when I think winter I think snowman.

So here is a round-up of my favorite winter icon as interpreted by some of my favorite bloggers. Hope you enjoy them as much as do!
