Halloween is a big deal around here. My kids start shopping for their costumes in July and we start planning festivities shortly thereafter. One of the activities that we do year-after-year always involves a trip to our favorite amusement park because they roll out their seasonal Halloween desserts along with a few new ones each year. It’s such a treat for the boys, they love the surprise and discovery of the new treats, and of course Matt and I love it just as much.
This year, in addition to showing you all the funs treats, I’m also sharing a few pro-tips for making special outings like this even better.
- To start, if you haven’t already checked out Capital One’s new Savor card, you need to. Drop everything and learn more about the Savor card here. I mean, what can be better than earning cash back for doing the things you love the most, right? The Savor Card makes the things you love even more rewarding by giving you 4% cash back on dining and entertainment, 2% cash back at grocery stores and 1% on all other purchases. That means multi-tasking has just taken on another level – eat and earn cash back rewards – yes, please.
- Enjoy your favorite bites. Take notes of the taste, texture and appearance so you can go home and recreate a little of the magic from that day. And don’t forget to snap a photo of it so you remember what the full execution is supposed to look like.
- Comfort reigns supreme, so dress accordingly. Save the haute couture for another occasion. There is nothing worse than having a day of exploring ruined by the wrong shoes and a day of feasting limited by a pinched waistline. Pro fave: wear stretch pants.
- Lastly, if you have young kids, know where all the restrooms and rest points are. There’s nothing like a toddler melt down or potty accidents to ruin a good day. As a backup, leave an extra set of clothes in the car in case your little ones don’t quite “make it” to the restroom
