Remember this fun fruit salad idea from way back? Well I decided to use that idea for these 4th of July Fruit Salad Cones.
I love getting crafty with fruit for the 4th of July. This year, I had a ton of ideas, but not enough time. So if you are like me and need a fast and easy 4th of July dessert—this has you covered!
Along with that, this is so kid friendly and healthy for all—win, win!
That’s it. I’m keeping it short today. Have a great 4th of July, everyone!

4th of July Fruit Salad Cones
Yield:
Serves 6
Ingredients
- 6 jumbo ice cream cones
- 1 large apple
- 6-8 strawberries, halved
- 3 oz. blueberries
Instructions
- Line ice cream cone with a cupcake liner. Slice apple into 1/8inch slices; and using a small meat star cookie cutter, stamp out stars from apple slices. Fill cone with blueberries, strawberries and apple stars.
Notes
NOTES:
- For easy filling, use jumbo size cones.
- Place a cupcake liner inside the cone to prevent it from getting soggy.
- To offset the Ice Cream Cone Fruit Cups from being top heavy, I fill the bottom portion of the cone with candy. Aside from its weight utility, kids love the candy-filled surprise ending. My taste preference is for Skittles and they don’t melt, so even better. If you prefer to bypass the candy route you can fill the bottoms with rice, but . . . boring!
