You know what I hate being accused of: snobbery. Being a foodie is not synonymous with a being a food snob. In fact if I’m a food snob, let me qualify it with−I’m an omnivorous food snob. I will pretty much eat anything and everything.
Although this past weekend my family accused me of putting a “snobby” foodie spin on this copycat homemade version of a Twix bar since I originally called them this. . .
Hit the jump and tell me if you agree with them.

I get that sometimes as well. Some of my friends called me a food snob when I posted my clafoutis recipe. I was like, “What?! It’s so easy you can make the batter in a blender!!”
What might be snobbery to some is basic to others. You can’t please everybody!

Twix bars don’t have toffee, nor are they shortbread! They’re weird wafery things covered in like 20% cocoa chocolate and are about 1/5 as AMAZING as yours look! you have EVERY right to call them Fancy Toffee Shortbread Bars 🙂

Oh wow, those look great! I’ve seen recipes for homemade Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, Samoas Cookies, you name it…floating around on my favorite timesuck, aka: Pinterest. I tried my hand at homemade Butterfinger Bars this fall.
Up next, I’m thinking Twix bars 🙂

I wouldn’t say you’re a snob! hahaha They look delicious, is there anything I could do to substitute the toffee chips? I have no idea where to find those in Spain!

Marieia-You can omit it completely or add in some finely ground nuts like, almonds, pecans, cashews or even mini chocolate chips.

If this is considered “snobby” then I wouldn’t mind being called that because these ROCK!
