This is the last of my traditional Thanksgiving side dish posts. Now, if you have never had homemade cream corn, let me tell you it’s nothing, nothing, like the horrible can stuff.  I love this homemade cream corn because it has that sweet and salty combination and added to that is some parmesan cheese to give it an extra layer of flavor.

I’m keeping this post and the next two short because I know everyone is crazy busy with the holidays.

Every year there’s always bound to be a vegetarian. With that in mind, I always like to provide a few side dishes outside of the traditional ones that have a little more sustenance. This pesto spaghetti squash is one of them.  For a vegetarian entree, I’ll be making a butternut squash lasagna that I’ll be posting in the coming days.

Speaking of which, if you’ve noticed, I have been posting everyday for the last four days. Wow, it’s a marathon. But I wanted to share with you some of my simple side dishes since Thanksgiving can be hectic enough that the food should be easy. The side dishes that I’ve chosen to post are the ones my family and friends love most.

This is a four ingredient dish consisting of potatoes, butter, salt and pepper. It’s simple to make and easy to assemble.  And it also will be the first of a few side dishes and mini appetizers I will be sharing for Thanksgiving.

I know, what’s a baker doing going savory? Don’t worry desserts are still on the table, I just thought it would be nice to break it up a bit and share with you some simple but delicious holiday appetizers and side dishes.
