I’m a little early for strawberry season, but who can wait when you live in California? Sure it’s not peak season, but they are still darn good. With that, I’m sharing a strawberry meringue recipe.
There is nothing like a good meringue and this recipe hits all the best things: crisp exterior and a chewy inside—all with a swirl of fruity sweetness.
Aside from that, I just love the way meringues looks—so pretty—and everyone knows pretty food tastes better. Okay, that may not necessarily be true, but it will make people reach for it faster than they will ugly food.

Not only do these look delicious, they’re also incredibly cute. The strawberry season started a few weeks ago here in Italy and we’ve had some really sweet, huge ones this year. These would be great with cherries too!

The basic meringue recipe I have at home doesn’t have cream of tartar. Why do some meringue recipes have it while others don’t?

Beautiful, Naomi!
Our Strawberry season just ended in Florida but now we will be getting the California strawberries on our shelves. Which makes me tons of happy. I heart strawberries. 🙂

Looks delicious! I just reviewed a cookbook about meringues and experimented with different techniques. Although heating the sugar first seemed a bit overdoing it to me, I have to say that method did deliver the best results. Still need to work on my piping skills though, because your meringues look incredibly pretty and elegant.

I could finish the entire batch myself. Beautiful photos!

Wow they really do look delicious!!!! I’m from the UK and just wondering if all cups in the USA are the same size? And if so how big are they? what do they hold in Fluid Ounces? Cheers Guys

These look so yummy and can be made even lower in calories by using sweetner instead of sugar. I can’t wait to make them.
