I have up until recently always used Magnolia’s Vanilla Cupcake that is until one of my friends told me it tasted like a corn muffin to her. So guess what, every bite after that – that was all I could taste. ARGHHHHH!

Seriously, in one sentence she managed to ruin my go-to vanilla recipe. So I started checking around at places like Martha Stewart, Epicurious, Cook’s Illustrated and Food Network. Funny thing – every single recipe contained a few review comments stating the end result tasted like a corn muffin.

Banana Split Cupcakes

Banana Split Cupcakes ~ It’s been what, a little over 30 days since I posted a cupcake, so of course I went crazy with dipping, rimming, stuffing and stacking this Banana Split Cupcake with all kinds of cupcakey goodness.

Remember these Banana Split Bites stuffed with ice cream from last year? This Banana Split Cupcake is an update of those bites but this time around I carved it between some paper pleats and sculpted it with some flour. Appletini Cupcakes

Appletini Cupcakes ~ Yes, you read that right-cocktail cupcakes! The only thing better than a Friday cocktail is one between a cake crumb, preferably a cupcake, and stacked with some Swiss buttercream that has been churned with a fully shaken Appletini.

Alright, if I didn’t have you at Appletini, you can of course keep this a straight up vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting. Just please, keep the cherry on top and the crystal sugar rimming, for no other reason than cute food makes people smile . . . Really, have you ever seen a frowning face after a maraschino cherry?

This is a simple cupcake dressed up for some adult fun and dressed up for Bakers Royale’s 1 year blog-a-versary celebration!!
