A sharper and fruitier version of a Mojito the Caipirinha is made with the South American rum Cachaca. Less sweet than its, Carribean cousin, Cachaca, is the star of this sweet an sour drink. The kumquats add an extra sour punch, while strawberry juice lends a sweet body to the Caipirinha.
I have to admit, I’ve actually never had Caipirinha until a few days ago when Russell of Endless Simmer requested a Caipirinha popsicle. That provided me the perfect excuse to buy. . .well, more booze. In comparing the classic Mojito vs Caipirnha, at first glance I wasn’t expecting a huge difference in taste. Wrong. I’ve just added a new member to my family. Her name is CC; she is an OnStar services, an aftermarket rear-view mirror with the OnStar communication. CC is short for car companion. Yep, next to my Blackberry that keeps me on schedule, CC will do all the vectoring I need to get me to where I need to go quickly and accurately with her turn-by-turn navigation. No more getting lost or pulling over to search where I’m headed on my mobile browser. The OnStar system is GPS enabled so, CC can lo-jack me and point me in the right direction.
I’m no tech head, but I’m definitely a gadget geek. I’m also a working a mom who when offered assistance will probably take it. So given the opportunity to review this—yep, I’m all over it like a kid on candy.
