It was a big week with back to school.
Of course per tradition, we had to have our picture with him. Wonder at what age that goes away. Until then, I took one of them and a few of him waiting in line.
Since I took the day off from work, Matt and I went and had a Pineapple Jalapeño Maragarita for a mid day thirst quencher . You know me and spicy drinks – LOVE them and you can expect to see the homemade version of this on the blog very soon.
Along with school and little league starting all at once, the kitchen was more madness than usual. But I’ve finally learned to throw all the tools on a bake sheet while I’m baking to contain the mess.
And since it always seems that I’m a running behind schedule, I thought what the heck is another 20 minutes, so I stopped to shoot what is probably the last of really fresh-looking berries before next summer.
Oh, and this—I dragged them prop hunting, and of course this is what the boys gravitated to. Typical.
This week Matt and I also found a new place for our lunchtime run. Well he’s not quite recovered for running, but he’s great about waiting for me. We found this bunch hanging out and tried not to bother them. Whoops.
Lastly I had to share our latest obsession: Google Chromecast this thing is awesome (check out the time stamp). It streams Netflix and YouTube onto the TV with your iPhone being the controller. Of all things, our guilty pleasure has been watching Family Ties into the early morning. Yeah, we are dorks.
That’s it. See you next week (if you’re a food blogger, you might be interested because I’ll also be sharing my favorite Etsy shops for food propping).

The last time I was able to take a picture on the first day of school was 9th grade! After that, no more. So you might have a few more years.
Love the corralling of mess onto a sheet pan.
Looking forward to seeing your suggestions for Etsy sites for props. A food blogger can never have too many props!
