Time to get cozy with some peppermint hot chocolate. I know this is really a simple recipe, but it’s still a solid one and a good one. Besides that, the first good rain of the season has finally come and I’m feeling all warm and nest-y (I know, way articulate).
Okay, let’s commiserate about holiday hectic-ness. Seriously, it’s madness around here lately, between work, the blog and trying to get Christmas decorations up–but for every sigh I let out–I’m so thankful for my beautiful family around me that they don’t get upset when I forget to pack their lunch, shrink their favorite no-dryer shirt and fall asleep five minutes into a movie.
So this weekend we are going to carve out some time and finish putting up our Christmas decorations with some of this hot chocolate. And of course I’m super excited because we are departing from our usual decorations. Matt and I decided we are going retro–like when we were kids, with tinsel and the tinsel type garland. Along with that we decided on a white tree–and I don’t mean the kind you flock. I mean a white tree–it’s fake, almost tacky, definitely retro and way freak’n cool.
The boys aren’t quite sure of it , but at least the hot chocolate will be a hit.

Yes!!!! This will be my go-to drink for the next few weeks! : )
This is great for the Kiddies but really good for us adults if instead of the andes a shot of peppermint schnapps brings it right over the top!
