Banana Pops

March 21, 2012 By Naomi Robinson | Bakers Royale 26 Comments

Remember these little Banana Split Bites? Well since my little guy loved them so much, I thought I’d give these banana pops a go.

Banana Pops

Success! He loved them. They are, as you can see quite easy to make and would be so much fun for a kid gathering.

Banana Pops

No recipe required. Just chop the bananas to the desired size, coat in melted chocolate and dip in the topping of choice. Of course my little guy would have nothing to do with sprinkles, he liked it best with the coconut and my choice was for the coconut and almonds combined.

A few notes:

  • I recommend popping a mini marshmallow on before skewering the banana. The marshmallow helps to keep the banana in place when you’re holding the banana pop upright.
  • Use ripe but firm bananas for best results.
  • If you are making these beforehand for a party, to quick- set the chocolate place the finished banana pop in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

We did something similar with white chocolate to make banana ghosts for my boys’ birthday at their preschool. The kids loved it, and I loved that they were eating fruit– even if it was dipped in chocolate, covered in sugar.
