Sumer may almost be over, but guess what? Football season is starting September 4th. Admittedly I’m not much of a football watcher, but I do love to participate in all the gatherings and tailgating.
With that, I’m going to pump up the season’s kickoff with these hot wings dipped in my killer apricot-jalapeno mustard sauce. The key to hot wings are a crispy skin and a great sauce.
Hot wings are a staple when it comes to party food in our house. But this sauce—oh my gawd! It’s a new favorite. It’s sweet with heat and held together with the distinctive taste of French’s Dijon Mustard. Of course you can turn up or turn down the heat based on how much jalapenos you use. The recipe is highly adaptable, so play with the ratios to perfect your preference.
And since I like mine super hot I will layer on the heat until my ears turn red, whereas Matt likes his more mild so he makes a peppered honey mustard sauce. What the two things have in common are we both use French’s as our base. So when French’s asked if I wanted to collaborate on a recipe it was a natural fit. Our refrigerator is always stocked with French’s product for sandwiches spreads, sauce bases for grilling and dip making. And for those of you only familiar with French’s American Mustard, check out the bevy of mustards they offer.
There you have it, an easy-to-make hot wing recipe that features a killer sauce as a sidekick for your football grubbing.
Now for some more fun, French’s is sponsoring a #FrenchsMixology giveaway. Included in this prize package is a Napoleon TravelQ 285 Portable Grill, an assortment of French’s mustard sauces, coupons for French’s products, and a French’s T-shirt, bag, and cap. This giveaway is valued at over $450. To enter, just comment below with your own Mustard Mixology ideas–let me know how you are using mustard to elevate your recipes.

Next to chicken wings, I love to make what I call Crispy Baked Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Tenders. I use French’s Dijon mustard whisked together with eggs and paprika as part of my recipe to kick up up these delicious chicken tenders. Like you, I keep the whole line of French’s mustards in the fridge.
