Oreo Cookies and Cream No-Bake Cheesecake ~ An adult dessert gets some kid lov’n with an Oreo crush.

Oreo Cookie and Cream No-Bake Cheesecake
What kid doesn’t love Oreos, right? But not every kid likes cheesecake. Please tell me I am not the only one that acquired a taste for cheesecake through the years.
In fact, I think my first bite of cheesecake was at a Cheesecake Factory when I was in high school. But maybe that had more to do with my parents being very strict, old world Asians. They convinced my siblings and me that American restaurants were for Americans, along with other weird ideas like makeup was to be worn when I was 30-something and boyfriends were had after college graduation. And by that I mean after I became a doctor.
Yeah, so much for parental influence. Eventually we westernized my dad but never my mom. She’s still wondering which cult abducted me every night and returned me to my bed before the sun rose.
My sweet tooth and baking obsession as attributed by her is an American influence that she hopes to wash away with fish sauce.
Uh, good luck! I’ve entered Willy Wonka’s world and I never want to leave. » Read the rest of this entry «

SoNo’s No-Bake Cheesecake ~ A no bake version that easily parallels its oven counterpart in texture. Throw in the fact that this is a John Baracelli recipe and with his talent for subtle flavoring and his use of gelatin to help set this cheesecake, you may never want to see a waterbath for cheesecake again.

I’m on a guest post run, my second in two weeks and I love it. This one is for Kid Diva. I met her on Twitter and we quickly surmised that we must have been sisters separated at birth. Although I’m still wondering how she got all the rad genes and I ended up a nerd in Southern California.
Her blog The Sugar Bar is one of my favorites. Want to see some of England’s best neighborhood restaurants-check it. The pictures of the dishes will have your mouth watering so wipe it up and get ready for the other part of her blog where she features her own deliciously creative recipes that will have you inspired and running for your kitchen.
Aside from her rock’n blogging skills, you’ll see she is very well loved on Twitter-deservingly so. Gone for a day and we Tweepers are missing our sunshine. For those not in the know, follow her on Twitter at @sugarbardiva and get skinned with some coolness.
In sticking with the theme of her life right now as a busy student, I chose a no-bake recipe that if Kid Diva can find time to make so can you.

Lemon Cheesecake with Blackberry Balsamic Reduction ~ Yes, it is as good as it sounds. Soft velvety cheesecake with just a hint of lemon, but before you settle in on that, don’t forget the blackberry balsamic reduction sauce that pairs perfectly for a must make cheesecake.

Stay with me as I deviate a bit from my usual. . . .
I started this blog not too long ago as a way to channel my passion for baking, I had no idea I would find such a home in the food blogging community and develop so many friendships.
One of these friendships has been with Jamie over at My Baking Addiction. Wow-What an incredible baker! Her passion is infectious and her creations are enviable. So yeah, I’m going to say if you don’t already, join the fun and Subscribe, Follow and Like her, of course don’t forget to join the My Baking Addiction’s Flickr group, Share Stream.
When Jaime asked me if I would like to guest post in her absence, I was honored and overjoyed. All that lasted two seconds as the nervousness crept in and I realized, “For the sweet love of sugar, what have I committed to”?
Thankfully she calmed my nerves straight and I settled on what to make.
Hit the jump for the remainder of this post and the recipe for how to make a perfect cheesecake with a killer reduction sauce.
