Almond and Raspberry Tart

It’s been a mad crazy week, so while I had every intention of making an elaborate Valentine’s cake, I settled on something more simple, like this Almond and Raspberry Tart. It’s easy to whip up and can totally pass for a Valentine’s Day dessert. It’s red from the raspberries after all. Unless you are my husband who insists, that just because it’s red doesn’t mean it can fly for a Valentine’s recipe.

Sure, so says me, the pregnant mama who is so giant and tight in the belly I feel like I’m gonna burst. This might surprise many of you (but then again, maybe not), but I don’t relish every moment of being pregnant. Don’t get me wrong. I love the end result and can’t wait to meet the little guy, but this pregnancy thing–not for me.

I know, gasp! But pardon  me, the discomfort keeps me up at night, I’m short of breath all the time, getting on shoes is a chore and trying to find clothes to fit my short legs and big belly—not so easy. Alright, I’ll stop now, more so because I’m out of breath just reading that last sentence. Because if you ask me how I’m feeling, and I know you—take a seat.

But this is a food blog, so I suppose we should get to the food. But before we do—check out those sausage-size fingers in the first picture. Whoa! I let my babe talk me into that shot. Of course he thinks I look adorable—no complaints there. He’s the best. My point in telling you, I can never take credit for a shot I didn’t shoot. I love the way he styled the shot. Looks like all my gentle pushing on the photography is catching on, he’s developing a pretty good eye for all this.

Uh, could totally pass for a Valentine’s Day dessert??? Um, YES! what are you talking about? This is fabulous! And no one will even notice your fingers (which are beautiful by the way) because it’s a beautiful shot, period. I love that your husband works with you and helps and is getting into all of this! whenever I ask my husband to help, he has no idea what to do and no interest in standing there for more than 2 seconds to hold up a fork. And it’s totally refreshing to hear that you don’t completely enjoy being pregnant. . same here! Like the said, having the actual baby makes it all worth it but the discomfort and weird things that happen to your body (I wont go into detail here), are not fun at all. I think it was better with #2 but still, I feel you sister. On the bright side, you have the glow so enjoy it, cherish it and wishing you an easy rest of your pregnancy!

Hang in there!! I have never been pregnant, but my mom who has had seven kids (yes 7 and yes she is crazy, but I love my big family) does not like being pregnant either. So you are not alone!!

He took an awesome picture Naomi. I feel you on the pregnancies. Mine were horrible (and that is an understatement). But I would chant my pregnancy mantra “short term pain for long term gain”!!! It will be over before you know it :)
Tart is jaw droppingly gorgeous by the way!

Actually, in the recipe I can only see a list of “A” :/
        But it looks so yummy!

I seem to have the same problem as @Linda, @Marta, @Alicia, @Kristin, and @ Rosemary, the recipe is missing and only reads “A” in every display.
Sorry for the bother, but the dessert looks amazing and I’d love to make it for my mother’s upcoming birthday! Thanks so much.
