Perfect Patrón Margarita

May is the second biggest celebration month in my house. There are birthdays, a wedding anniversary, Mother’s Day and of course, two holidays. The first one being one of my favorites: Cinco de Mayo. This year it is especially so because I’m all about learning how to cook and mix authentic Mexican food and cocktails. To start things off, I’m sharing this Perfect Patrón Margarita.

When making your margarita, here are a few things to consider: Buy a good quality tequila like Patrón. Cheap tequila usually equals bad margaritas (and often times a bad headache the next day). The recipe to try: Perfect Patron Margarita. It uses Patrón Citrónge Orange for some bright citrus flavor and Patrón Reposado for a more mellow tequila note. Of course, the best way to enjoy Patron is responsibly.  Now that we have the drink handled. Let’s talk food.

I’m all about easy party planning. With that, I’m setting up a tostada bar. This way, everyone makes it the way they want it and I don’t have to babysit a stovetop or an oven recipe. The best part is it keeps everyone moving and mingling. Yay to that!

Now some fun goodies for you guys in Chicago and New York City. Naturally you want to elevate your Cinco de Mayo gathering, so Patron is a must. For those of you living in the aforementioned areas you can tweet #PatronMyCinco and a purchase of Patrón will be delivered within an hour. Or to make things even easier on yourself, use the same tweet and purchase a Patrón in A Box for delivery in an hour as part of Patrón’s new on-demand delivery. The box includes all the ingredients for the Margarita of the Year (Coralina Margarita) along with some Cinco de Mayo Swag. Crazy, huh! As for the rest of us–planning is key for any party, so make sure you are well-stocked before the first guests arrive.

Planning isn’t something I excel at, but if there’s a party involved, I’m way better at it.  Or at least I think I am—in less than two weeks, I’ll be trading in the Patrón for a piñata for my toddler’s birthday party—so we will see how all this planning goes.
