Fig and Clementine Port Wine Popsicles
Fig and Clementine Port Wine Popsicles ~ This week I’m setting aside the stemware and serving port wine on a stick.
I wonder if there is a sommelier somewhere ready to launch his or her spittoon at me. Maybe. But I’m guessing after one quick lick the idea won’t seem quite so wrong.
The picture above is what I call“The Aftermath”. I thought it might be fun to share what things look like after the shots. See the half peeled, peeled, sliced and whole tangerines? I tried to fit them in the picture but just couldn’t get it to look right. As for the figs, the insides weren’t ripe enough to photograph, so those didn’t make it. Same with the broken popsicle that didn’t make it out of the form in its entirety. Basically there’s always rejects and extra “food/props” that are ready as back up, so that if things start to wither and wilt I can quickly replace it with fresh looking stand-ins. Then there are times when somethings are left out completely because I can’t make it work. ie. the tangerines. Hopefully, this whole photography bit will get easier with experience. And in case you’re wondering, what happens to the “extras” most of the time it’s eaten. The other times, like anything else in my fridge, it goes bad before I can get to it.
